ADMINISTRATION
The Registry is operated under the California Association for Counseling and Development (CACD) Education Foundation and is administered by The Registry Board. CACD is a state branch of the American Counseling Association. The Education Foundation, a non-profit organization, provides scholarships, memorials and support for counseling and development professionals.
|
The purpose of The Registry is to promote the advancement of quality counseling and service delivery practice by identifying professional and paraprofessional practitioners who meet certain defined standards and have voluntarily sought and obtained Registry status. The Registry establishes and maintains statewide standards of preparation, ethics and practice; it promotes accountability and visibility; it identifies its members to colleagues, employers and to legislators; it protects consumers through publicity and education. Individuals listed in this directory must have obtained minimum standards in four areas: experience, education, examination and ethics. Each page lists the standards for each of the four specialty areas: Professional Counselor, Professional Career Counselor, Professional Rehabilitation Counselor and Career Paraprofessional. |
BOARD |
The Board is comprised of registered general practice, career and rehabilitation counselors and paraprofessionals representing the following areas of practice: counselor education, school counseling, college counseling, private practice, agency practice and the public sector. |
